NETSCOUT has announced an expansion of its Arbor Cloud distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation platform, doubling its cloud-based mitigation capacity to 33 Tbps.
The increased capacity is intended to strengthen protection against large-scale and multi-vector DDoS attacks as organizations continue to adopt cloud-native applications and AI-driven services. The company said the expansion follows its recent acquisition of additional DDoS network and infrastructure assets.
According to NETSCOUT, Arbor Cloud now operates across 16 global traffic scrubbing centers, combining cloud-based mitigation with threat intelligence derived from the company’s internet traffic visibility.
The company noted that the DDoS threat landscape is evolving, with attackers increasingly launching multiple simultaneous attack vectors and leveraging large botnets capable of generating attacks approaching or exceeding 30 Tbps. This trend has increased demand for scalable DDoS protection among enterprises and service providers.
NETSCOUT said the expanded platform is designed to:
- Increase capacity to mitigate large volumetric and multi-vector DDoS attacks.
- Support protection against multiple concurrent attacks targeting different services.
- Maintain mitigation performance as attack sizes and frequencies increase.
- Reduce the impact of large traffic spikes and prolonged service disruptions.
- Support organizations operating critical digital infrastructure, including financial services, healthcare, retail, and public sector environments.
Arbor Cloud forms part of NETSCOUT’s hybrid DDoS protection architecture, combining on-premises mitigation with cloud-based traffic scrubbing through automated cloud signaling. The platform is supported by a 24×7 Security Operations Center (SOC) that monitors and responds to DDoS attacks. The company expects the capacity expansion to be completed by the end of August 2026.
